Cal Zemelman is the Executive Director of CVP’s Data Science & Engineering Practice. In this role, he focuses on developing innovative data systems, data engineering, descriptive analytics, and predictive analytics solutions. Cal has seventeen years of technical expertise and thought leadership in enterprise data analytics, data warehouses (DW), machine learning, system development, automation (testing, process, integration), and cloud computing. Since joining the company, Cal has provided thought leadership and prototypes for advanced analytics, such as machine learning on unstructured data, interactive visualizations, and distributed databases. As the leader of CVP’s Innovation Lab, he has helped clients prove out the business value for technologies like virtual reality, drones, and serverless computing and subsequently put them into production usage. Cal delivers strong IT project management experience in Agile systems development lifecycle, including change management, stakeholder engagement, and quality assurance. Prior to joining CVP, Cal was in Federal service leading the business intelligence / data warehouse team for an operational division of the United States Marine Corps. Cal received an MS in Management of Information Technology from the University of Virginia and a BS in Information Systems and Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University. His certifications include Amazon Web Services Solution Architect Professional, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, and Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer.

Wei Chien is the Director of CVP’s Data Science & Engineering Practice. She builds applied machine learning solutions to empower organizations in making data-driven decisions. Wei has over a decade of technical experience in data analytics and specializes in working with data in healthcare, finance, maritime, transportation, and commodities. She has worked with federal agencies and private sectors to build ETL and data ingest platforms to transform complex data (human-generated, unstructured, streaming) and metadata for machine learning models and data platforms. Previously, Wei spent a decade in commodities trading - extracting trading signals from data to serve institutional investors. She founded an energy analytics company and was selected as one of the Forbes 30 under 30. Wei holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from The Cooper Union.
